Graduate Student Recruitment
We have a series of well-defined and exciting projects in biomedical acoustics and image-guided therapy, including ultrasound-mediated drug delivery (multi-scale assessment of drug transport in brain tumors), ultrasound immunomodulation of tumor microenvironment, sound propagation on complex media (Passive Caviation Mapping), and acoustofluidics (tumor on a chip). Students that wish to work on other projects that fall within the interests and expertise of the lab are welcome to apply.
The lab will provide formal training in sound propagation and numerical modeling, microbubble dynamics, image-guided therapy, multi-modal and multi-scale systems, and in vitro and in vivo experimentation. Students will learn how to design experiments and use technologies to study complex biological systems, such as the neurovascular network and the tumor microenvironment, via hands-on training and active mentorship from the PI.
Students admitted to any of the relevant graduate programs at Georgia Tech (ME, BME, BioE) and/or Emory are encouraged to contact the PI (costas.arvanitis AT gatech.edu) for a full description of potential projects.
